Dear Monkee’s Girls,
I am embarrassed to admit that my technology prowess leaves little to be desired. And I found myself in a panic these past few weeks as I seem to have lost my camera cord! But alas, the technology genius, Robert Campbell helped me download my most recent photos without a hitch and I am back in business!
Now, where did we leave off? Oh! The Halloween Frye trunk show – so much to tell! Girls, if you skipped it, you missed all of the fun! The boots were scrumptious and we sold GOBS of boots, booties, and shoes! By far, the Carson boot and the Hutch short boot were our top sellers of the day. So much so we have added more stock for those who need more than 1 pair! Shoppers gobbled up the delicious Zumi Sushi and Sofia champagne in a cute can! And 2 lucky ladies each won a gorgeous Frye leather handbag in our surprise drawing. And a special treat for us was the arrival of a custom carved Monkee’s jack-o-lantern carved by our very own Perry Del Favero’s sweetie, Zach Wexler!

So we wrapped up the Frye-extravaganza and headed into the first week of November! Whew… and it started on a good foot with a celeb shopper by the way of Titans kicker Rob Bironas, fresh off a Titans win and some money to burn on a lucky lady (sorry ladies, he’s taken). Rob made a few fans’ days ringing up some sales behind the register and we think he just might have a career at Monkee’s when his football days are over!

And finally, our biggest news yet is our November Monkee’s Girls of the Month! We have the great fortune of being frequented by wardrobe stylists Tina Adams and Rebecca Thompson who find Monkee’s to be a go-to for their clients’ shoe needs. Tina & Rebecca always have amazing fashion tips and tid-bits and we are thrilled to introduce them to you! And as a special treat, through the month of November, you can come into Monkee’s and register to win a 2 hour closet consultation with these fabulous fashionistas! CLICK over to their blog to get the scoop!

Ok girls, you’re updated for now! It’s a busy week already… Keep posted to the blog for updates on exciting new holiday merchandise arriving daily – or better yet, pop in the shop!

Dear Monkee’s Girls,
Yes, it is 11pm on Friday night… And I can happily report that I have not been home all night blogging – just the last hour! But I have Pura Lopez on my brain after chatting up my girlfriends at Cantina Loredo tonight about the wonderfulness of this new (to Nashville) line! Now ladies, you know I am a shoe FREAK. And I will readily admit that there are plenty of Blahniks, Choos, and Louboutins in their places of honor in my shoe closet. But honey, I just have to say – $1000 is a little much for a pair of shoe and my Blah-lou-choo days are behind me (fingers crossed behind my back, just in case). And especially now that my new obsession is PURA LOPEZ!
The incredible craftsmanship and elegant design of this Spanish line can go toe-to-toe with a Blahnik any day and is far less outre in price. And I have literally swiped the size 9 of all of the below shoes for my own collection.

Simple, elegant nappa leather slingbacks. Black and luggage. The perfect shoe.

Sexy, feminine, glamorous silk peep-toe pump. And on a side note, Taylor Swift snagged the little black clutch in the back to wear to an awards ceremony this week!

The peep-toe on the back is in the most gorgeous color called “Makeup” which will literally go with anything. Just between beige and blush. The black pump has a satin body with shreds of chiffon ribbons encircling the shoe.
Girls, I cannot gush about these shoes enough. The little red number has already pranced out with a bride-to-be and will accompany her down the aisle in a few short weeks. And the nappa slingbacks are making themselves right at home with plenty of girls who just know a timeless shoe when they see one!
Come and see!

Dear Monkee’s Girls,
You know we love a party at Monkee’s! And last Thursday we had a big reason to celebrate as our friend, and sensational photographer Adrian Hitt unveiled a collection of her amazing work now being displayed at Monkee’s! What is extra fun about Adrian is she specializes in dog photography and my pups and I were honored to be recent subjects of hers:

So to celebrate the exhibition of her photography at Monkee’s, we threw a “Pawty” and invited our 2 and 4 legged friends to join us for wine, nibbles, and puppy treats. The groovy guys from Granola Barks provided the puppy treats much to the delight of our 4-legged friends and everyone went home with a special goody bags and lots of laughs!
Be sure to pop in to ohhh and ahhh over Adrian Hitt’s Photography

Dear Monkee’s Girls,
Zipper detail is one of the hottest fashion trends this Fall and I’m seeing it everywhere from the YSL runway to risky Louboutin stilettos. When I’m buying for Monkee’s, I always strive to provide those hot trends to my Monkee’s Girls in a variety of styles and price ranges. For the girls who are afraid of heights, we have this adorable Jeffrey Campbell ballet flat named Cameron. This cutie has been a huge seller and there are a couple of sizes left. Adorable with a black skinny jean or leggings, this shoe gives you a lot of bang for your buck at just around $100!

But for the girls who are willing to take a little more risk, have we got some show stoppers for you! Recently at market I found a fabulous shoe line called ReportSignature which delivers the hottest fashion trends at a friendly price. If you’ve got the cash, absolutely go for those super-fashion forward looks in a Louboutin or Blahnik. But most of us are pinching a few pennies these days, and I always say, put your investments toward those forever shoes that you will be wearing for years to come. But with these seasonal trends, get your kicks with a more reaonable price point so you don’t feel bad shoving those shoes to the back of the closet at the end of the season. And all that being said, who cares what you paid for these babies, when you’ll be turning heads in these sexy kittens:

Zip into Monkee’s and give ‘em a spin!

Dear Monkee’s Girls,
When I heard the rain beating on my roof early this morning, I wanted nothing more than to pull the covers up tighter – snuggle in with my dogs and keep on sleeping! But alas, fashion called and I had to hop up, fluff my new hair-do and bustle out into the rain to get my busy day started!
This morning, I was honored to be a part of a fun fashion show for the Titans Wives Association. So many of these girls (and guys) have been tremendous supporters of Monkee’s and I was thrilled to partner with the funky shop Flavour on Demonbreun to present the must-haves for Fall! The crowd went wild for my shoe pairings and the Tennessean’s Fashion Diva, Cathi Aycock gave us glowing reviews! Check out our coverage on NashvilleShopping.com! Here are some pics that I snapped backstage:

After taking a bow at the Titans Wives fashion show I hustled out into the rain and onto the next “thing”… I had to make a pit stop at the house, walk the dogs, and change into an LBD and heels for a cocktail party and bridal show at The Bride Room! Now, I know I have chatted before about my precious friend Charlotte Poling who is the bridal guru of Nashville! If there is a 2nd time the aisle for me, I can promise Charlotte will be my first phone call! Charlotte enlisted the help of event planners extraordinaire Malcolm & Martha Greenwood and Denise Sykes of Big Events Wedding to create a beautiful setting in the Courtyards at Bandywood.
Charlotte Poling, moi, Denise Sykes, & Martha Greenwood
I was drooling over the frothy confections that Charlotte sent down the runway and marveled at the fun and flirty short dresses for the quirky girl!

It was a fabulously fashionable day… But happy to be home and prop up my BARE feet for a little R&R.
